Project Stage: Concept Design
Program: Sociocultural Center
Location: Yelets, Russia
Design Period: 2021
The T.N. Khrennikov City Palace of Culture in Yelets is undergoing a comprehensive renovation aimed at preserving its historical value while transforming it into a modern cultural and educational hub. Built in 1975, the Palace of Culture is a significant example of Soviet modernism.
The project focuses on the rational use of interior spaces, which will be reprogrammed for more efficient functioning. New zones will be introduced to cater to young people, working-age individuals, and essential public services. The façade renovation will incorporate local materials such as sandstone, emphasizing the connection with the region’s architectural heritage.
The redevelopment of the surrounding area will create a new public space, becoming a focal point for residents while reinforcing the city's cultural traditions.
